Alan F Varan, passed on Friday, November 8, 2013, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 64, after a brave fight with cancer. Born in Brooklyn, New York on April 7, 1949. He graduated from Bishop Ford HS, in Brooklyn,NY and studied at Pace University in NYC. He was employed with the NYC Transit Authority. Alan loved to cook, fish and spend time at the ocean with his family. Alan was preceeded by his parents, Everett J. Varan and Margaret M. Varan. He is survived by his wife, Judith A. Gerke, his daughter, Vanessa (Benny) Buccini, and their children, Andrew and Amanda. Stepsons: Jerry (Lisa) Gerke and their children Jenna, Austin and Tyler, and David (Grace) Gerke and their children Jonathan and Eve. Alan is also survived by his brother, Everett (Adeline) Varan and their children, and his first wife Gloria. A private memorial to be announced by family.
