Anna Marie Adams Horn, 85, of Delmar, passed away peacefully at the Hospice Inn at Peter's Hospital in Albany on Tuesday December 2, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 14, 1929 in Steelville, MO, she was the daughter of the late Millie and Marion Adams. She received her R.N. nursing degree from Washington University in St. Louis and was a Head Nurse at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis from 1950-1960 where she worked alongside the renowned Dr. William Masters (Masters & Johnson). After taking time to raise her children, she returned to nursing and became the Director of Nursing at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Delmar, NY from 1977 to 1984. Anna enjoyed ballroom dancing, bridge, cooking, quilting, knitting, crocheting, and sewing for her children. She was a longtime member of Delmar Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert; four children: Lisa Hollander (Carey) of Pawling, N.Y.; Todd Horn of Dover, NH, Rebecca Fleahman (Bruce) of Glastonbury, CT; Leslie Horn Trosset of Delmar, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren: Ashley Fleahman Orfitelli (Nicholas), Hannah Fleahman, Bobby, Tori, TJ and John Trosset, Lauren and Jared Hollander, a brother, George (Sharon) Adams, in addition to many nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by eight siblings: Neola McKay, Pauline Adams, Henry Adams, Opal Comfort, Ava Comfort, Betty Ferrell, Dorothy Weber, Neleta Maloney. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 6th at 11am at Delmar Presbyterian Church, 585 Delaware Ave, Delmar. Reception to follow in the church hall. A spring interment will be held at Maple St. Cemetery in Adams, MA and in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Steelville, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethlehem Senior Projects, Inc., 455 Delaware Ave, Delmar, NY 12054.
