TROY –
Augustinas (Augie) Vaicius was born in Stuttgart, Germany on May 5, 1946 where his family had fled from the Russian Occupation of their home in Lithuania after WWII. They emigrated to Hudson, NY in 1948 where Augie grew up attending Catholic schools. Augie attended 3 years at Fordham University before joining the Army in 1966 and serving in Vietnam and Germany until 1969. He enjoyed selling imported cars in the Boston area until he returned to Hudson in 1984 to aid his ailing parents. He met his life partner, Judy Meyer, in Hudson where they both enjoyed selling real estate in that historic city. Augie also enjoyed motorcycle touring on winding mountain roads in the Catskills, the Blue Mountains, and the Colorado Rockies. They retired to Troy NY where they enjoyed participating in the revitalization of yet another historic city.
Augie passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home on July 23, 2025 with his devoted partner, Judy, by his side. Arrangements are private, there will be no viewing or funeral service.
