Obituary
VALLEY FALLS –
Barbara L. Powley, 81, of Valley Falls, formerly of Troy, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024 in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of the late J. Raymond and Irene Kemp, Barbara was born on January 26, 1943 in Schenectady, NY. She received her education from Columbia High School and also Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Powley retired from Samaritan Hospital having served as a nurse for many years.
Devoted wife of nearly 40 years to: George E. Powley, whom she married on May 13, 1984 in the Chapel of Samaritan Hospital. Loving mother of: Harald, Lynnette and George. Cherished grandmother of: Taylor, Rielly, Braden and Shawn.
In addition to her mother and father, Barbara was predeceased by her son Thomas.
The Powley Family wishes to acknowledge the following: The Community Hospice, Dr. Christine Carle and the ALS Center for their compassion, care and commitment to Barbara.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
