Obituary

GLENMONT -
On Thanksgiving day the angels came down and took Barent Staats Hatt away.
Gone were his earthly aches and pain
He was reunited with his Mom and Dad,
Cynthia Worthington Hatt and Donald Gregory Hatt, to whom he was a devoted caretaker for in their  later years.
In his last months he was surrounded by his loving siblings, getting to see how much he meant to them and what a positive  force he was in their lives over the years.
Gregory Randolph Hatt  Older brother
George Josiah Hatt 3 rd Younger brother
Schuyler  Worthington Hatt  Youngest brother
Elizabeth Edwards Hatt (Kelty) Little sister
Barry was a child of Albany,  NY growing up on Mercer street, going to School 17, then moved to Providence Street , where he was selected to go to Milne High School.  At Milne, he ran cross-country  and was the starting center for his high school  basketball team.
He went to Fredonia state college  where he also became the starting center #22   on the basketball team, through his junior year. After which he returned  to Albany  to work temporarily until he returned to Suny Albany to complete his Bachelor's Degree.
Always a spirit in search  of life's  adventures and answers  he went to the Woodstock  music festival and brought his 17-year-old brother along for the experience.   He tried California but it didn't fit because he was a long way from home and he missed his family that meant everything to him, so he came back to Albany to his roots.
He became a professional painter, he also worked on bikes, then started a small moving company called Any Day Movers. He touched many people's furniture and their lives.
After our father passed,  he moved in with his dear mom,  giving her the best quality of life possible until she passed .
Our dear brother  was an artist, poet, deep thinker, fun uncle, huggable brother-in-law, and the one who would pick you up, if you were lost, struggling  and if all else fails, he would use his wonderful sense of humor to bring you back up.
