Barton Paul “Bart” Ball

Barton Paul “Bart” Balle, 77, of Colonie, passed away on October 10, 2026, after a long illness.

Bart was born on May 8, 1949, in Niskayuna and was raised in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Schenectady. He graduated from South Colonie High School and SUNY at Stony Brook.

A lifelong electrical engineer, Bart wrote programs for hydro engineering, and his true professional passion was his work with Albany Engineering. He was a member of ISA.

Bart was a man of high moral standards, very generous, and a tinkerer in many things. He loved music and worked as a sound engineer, collected and cherished antique radios, and was a devoted car enthusiast who once rebuilt a Porsche. He remodeled his home several times over, always finding something new to improve.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl Balle, whom he married on July 1, 1995; his children; and his seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Bruce (Kathy) Balle of Arizona, and their daughter, his very special niece, Stephanie Bosley; his in-laws, and his canine companion, Junior.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the family’s convenience.
