Obituary
GLENS FALLS –
Carl Wayne Smith, 71, passed away on February 14, 2024 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn after a long illness with his Family by his side.
He was born on October 2, 1952 in Glens Falls to the late Carl and Virginia (Bridges) Smith.
Wayne grew up in Hartford and attended Hartford Central School. He served proudly in the United States Navy. Wayne worked many years as Service Manager at Carswells, Autoworld, and Queensbury Motors. He also held long tenures for International Paper and Quad Graphics. During retirement he enjoyed working with his sons assisting them whenever and wherever he could.
When not working Wayne enjoyed working on projects around the house, fishing, target shooting, and hunting. He loved spending time with his dogs Salt, Sam, and Tucker.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his niece Sherry Smith, two brothers Allan and Roger Smith, and his sister in law Betty Smith. He is survived by his beloved wife Fay and their children Paul and his spouse Aimee, Jayme and his spouse Krystle, and Misty Gale. Grandchildren: Travis, Richard, Jocelyn, Sylvia, Mason, and Jameson, his pets Salt, Sam, and Tucker, siblings Garry (Marsha) Smith, Bonnie (Larry) Wahl, Marcia Smith, and many nieces and nephews.
The family wish many thanks to the St. Peter's Hospice Unit for their kindness and amazing care of their Husband/Father.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
There will be a graveside service in the spring at a date yet to be determined.
