Obituary

Clark Walter Cyphers, born June 12, 1928; died October 28, 2013. Clark grew up on Swan Street in Scotia with his parents, Edna and Walter, and his 3 sisters, Muriel, Shirley and Audrey. At the age of 16, he and his parents moved to Tanner Road in Elnora, NY. He graduated from Burnt Hills high school and attended Siena College. In 1949 he married Pauline Petersen and moved to the house next to the Elnora Post Office on Main Street. Clark and Polly had 3 children: Glenn, Kristen (Fred), and Eric (Kathy); 6 grandchildren Courtney Savage, Kyleigh Lawler, Lauren DeMicco, Kendra DeMicco, Kevin Cyphers and Greg Cyphers; and 2 great-grandchildren, Julia and Kiera Lawler. Clark retired 26 years ago from Sears, and became very active in the community serving on numerous church committees and as a volunteer at Proctor's Theater, Meals-on-Wheels, and with the food pantry. Memorial services will be held at Jonesville United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, with a reception to follow in the church's Fellowship Hall. The church is located at 963 Main St, Clifton Park, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Jonesville Methodist Memorial Fund, or to the Helping Hands Food Pantry.
