ALBANY – Colleen Bassett, 80, of Albany, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2023, at The Delmar Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation (Bethlehem Commons). The daughter of William and Frances Gathen, Colleen was born on November 12, 1942, in Albany. She was a lifelong resident of Albany, after many years of service she retired from her employment with St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Survivors include her husband Leslie Bassett, her children, and their spouses: Jane Nelson, Michael Bassett, and Debbie Thibodeau (Michael). Her Grandchildren: Cassandra, John, Amanda, Christopher and Kate, and her Great grandchildren: Jocelyn, Skylar, Christian, Bennett. Colleen is survived by one brother and sister-in-law: William Gathen (Pat). Special thanks and acknowledgements to her daughter, Jane Nelson for being at our mother's side nearly every day she was in the nursing home. The nurses, staff, and financial advisor of Bethlehem Commons Care Center. Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
