Cynthia A. Knapp-Barry, 63, of Schenectady, NY passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017 after a long illness.

She is survived by her 2 children, Jacqueline and John Knapp, both of Schenectady; a granddaughter, Alyssa Knapp; siblings Marsha (Eddie) Schmidt, Margaret (John) McNamara, Albert (Emily) Knapp, and Jack (Ellie) Knapp, and also several nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her husband Mark Barry, her parents Martha and John Knapp, her brother Steven Knapp, and niece Lisa Frescatore.

Cynthia was a generous and fun-loving person whose hobbies included crocheting items for everyone, cooking, sewing, gardening and garage sales.  She was also an animal lover and will be sorely missed by her three cats:  Neil, Baby and Daisy.

The family would like to extend sincere thanks for the gracious care she received from St. Peter's Hospital, especially the nurses and techs on Floor 2 McCauley and from Dr. Jason Heckman and associates.

Visitation will be Friday, August 25, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 806 Union Street, Schenectady, NY at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m.   Burial will be held privately.
