Obituary

COHOES David P. "Dave" Sanders, 68 of Cohoes passed away suddenly on July 7, 2021 after a long illness. Dave was born in Troy New York, he worked as a laborer for many years at Arcys and Escys. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving two tours in the US Army. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, loved bowling, fishing and card games. He was known as the jokester of the group and "Mayor of Chestnut St" and the "Mayor of Riverwalk." His favorite places to eat included Gus's and Bill's. He also enjoyed vacationing in Maine with his wife Debra. Dave is survived by his beloved and caring wife of 23 years, Debra Sanders, his sisters Gloria (Buzz) Robins and Rosemary Parker, and brother Thomas (Stephanie) Sanders. He is also survived by his two children Catherine Wolfe and Joseph Sagendorf, grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many close friends. Dave was the son of the late Clarence Sanders and Eudora Gagnon-Sanders Fuller. Also predeceased by his brothers Raymond Sanders Sr and Joseph Sanders Sr, and sisters Julia Thomas, Sandra Rose and Tina Sanders. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10am to 12pm on Tuesday July 13 at Simple Choices, Inc. (Riverview Funeral Home) 218 2nd Ave, Troy NY 12180. There will be a memorial service at noon with Reverend Nick TeBordo officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The United Church of Cohoes, 123 Mohawk St. Cohoes, NY 12047.
