It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dean "Booma" McDonald, who died unexpectedly on January 4, 2026, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York, at the age of 61.

Born on January 22, 1964, in Kingston 14, Jamaica, Dean was the son of the late Vincent and Venette McDonald. After being raised in Jamaica, he relocated to the United States, residing in Brooklyn, New York, before eventually settling in Schenectady. He was a dedicated employee of FedEx for many years.

Dean is survived by his three children: Deana, Marlondo, Sr., and Marco; and his three grandsons: Marlondo Jr., Mhyis, and Makai. He also leaves behind his siblings: Glenmore, Orrett, Terrance, and Jewel, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
