On September 4, 2026, Dee (Diane) DesBois of North Ft. Myers, FL passed away at her daughter's home in Glenville, NY. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior. We can only imagine what you saw when you found yourself surrounded by his peace and glory! We do know that daddy, Wesley DesBois met you as you entered those gates to heaven, with tears in both of your eyes, we imagine him giving you the longest hug ever.

Dee was born in Brockton, Massachusetts on July 14, 1947, to Eleanor and Robert McGee. The family eventually moved to Rotterdam, NY, where Dee grew up and graduated from Mohonasen High School. She then began working for the New York Telephone company. On August 14, 1967, she married the love of her life, Wesley DesBois. Dee lived a life devoted to her family and those she loved. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She touched so many countless lives throughout her years.

Dee worked at several places, including; Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Mohonasen school bus driver, The Calico Goose, Anthem Health, Signature Home Buyers and finally her most cherished job with Rotterdam Emergency Services (REMS). She also volunteered to many organizations, as well as was a member of The Moose Fraternity in Ft. Myers, Florida, The American Legion Auxiliary of Ft. Myers Beach, and The Elks of North Ft. Myers, Florida.

Dee enjoyed cooking, sewing, plants and most of all decorating. Shopping at thrift stores, she could take the drabbest of rooms, work her magic and turn into something from a magazine. It was unprecedented. She most of all loved her family and friends. Her greatest joy came from watching her family grow and creating lasting memories. She will be remembered for her loving heart, strength and love for our Lord and Savior.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Craig) Erno, and Debbie (Donald) Reamer, her beloved grandchildren; Anthony Erno, Alexis Reamer and Jake Reamer, her brother Robert McGee, and a sister. She had many special people in her life, she shared a very special bond with Dean Romano who was more like a son to her; along with Teri Attanasio her best friend of 50 years and prayer warrior, and dear friend and companion John Kruk. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Dee was predeceased by her most beloved husband Wesley DesBois, while his loss left a mark on her heart she carried his memory with her throughout her life.

The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to hospice caregivers; Lori, Julie and Noah. Their compassion, dedication and support during Dee's final days provided such comfort. Also, we would like to extend a special expression of heartfelt gratitude to her Florida neighbor, Patty Wright who nursed mom, helped her with many of her needs and tended to her precious cat, Dolly, and most importantly prayed with her, and to our Dean Romano who flew to be by mom's side in Florida, held our hand, cried with us, laughed with us and helped us navigate this whole process from beginning to end, and made sure everything was in place for her ultimate return to NY. We cannot express enough how much this steady love and support meant to both of us, and most of all, Mom. So many of you reached out with food, gift cards for food, love, prayers and support. You will never know just how much that meant to our family to spend more time with Mom, thank you so very much.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that memorial contributions be made to Rotterdam Emergency Services at 2007 Cardiff Road, Rotterdam, NY 12303.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 19th, 11:30 a.m., at Parkview Cemetery in Schenectady. A celebration of her extraordinary life will proceed afterwards at Scotia Elks on Sacandaga Rd, Scotia, NY.

You will be so missed Mom, but you will always be in our hearts!
