For My Celebration of Life

When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me,

I want no rites in a gloom filled room, why cry for a soul set free.

Miss me a little but not too long and not with your head bowed low.

Remember the love and good times we shared.

Miss me but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must make and sadly must go alone.

It's all a part of God's great plan, a step on the road to home.

If you get lonely or sick of heart, think of my life and read this poem.

Knowing you are doing this will ease my journey home.

Or perhaps spend some moments with loved ones or maybe friends that you still know.

Just always love me and miss me, but please let me go.

For this my life has reached its end.

I'm certain some day we will all meet again.

So as my number is finally called, the how, when and where only God will decide.

To those of you I leave behind,

Remember this: It's been a Hellova ride!
