Donald L. Kircher, 92, of Albany, passed away peacefully with family members at his side on September 20, 2016 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland.
Donald is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy, and his six children, Noreen Morrison (Ronald), David (Lorna Moffre), Peter (Mary), Mary Butler (David), Kathy Weeks (Thomas), and Thomas (Cynthia). He also leaves behind his cherished extended family of 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Don and Dorothy enjoyed their life together in Albany, Cooperstown, and winters in St. Augustine.
Don was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II.
Don was employed for 40 years by the NY Telephone Company and then enjoyed 30 happy years of retirement that he shared with his wife and family.
Don gave of himself through his volunteer work and involvement with the Knights of Columbus, the St. Vincent DePaul Society, and the Little Sisters of the Poor.
Don's family would like to express thanks to the caring staff of the Our Lady of Mercy Life Center, and especially to the staff of the Guadalupe Unit.
A memorial Mass to celebrate Don's life will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Madison Avenue, Albany on Tuesday September 27, 2016 at 2:00pm.
