Obituary

NISKAYUNA –

Eileen R. Davis, Niskayuna, died February 27, 2026. She was born in Albany, NY to the late Edward E. Davis and Dorothy (Brady) Davis.

Predeceased by brother Michael Davis, she is survived by: sisters Lynda Davis, Glenville and Patricia Goodwin, Schenectady; nephew Matthew Goodwin, Latham, his son Theodore Goodwin and JayDon Jones.

Eileen graduated from Cardinal McCloskey Memorial High School and Maria College. At Maria she studied to become a Registered Nurse , a profession she was devoted to all her life. She worked in many hospitals throughout the capital region, especially as a critical care nurse. Among the many positions she held were Head Nurse at 6 Brady Farrell, St. Peter’s Hospital and RN at the Transfer Center at Albany Medical Center.

I, as we often called her, had many talents; among them, a fantastic cook and baker. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday where she went all out for her family. Her knitting was extraordinary including a NYC skyline afghan proudly adorning a family member’s sofa. Her crafting talent even included stained glass projects and she was quite handy at resolving many complex and fix-it tasks.

Lest we not forget she loved animals and was a devoted cat person having some pretty unusual/exotic looking, beautiful cats - only one at a time. She also loved music and movies (both old and new). Eileen had a pretty crazy sense of humor which was enjoyed by all and she was also very much into fashion - fond of designer bags and various clothing styles.

Eileen was very loyal to her close friends and family helping in matters large and small. I, the middle sister, will be terribly missed by Lynda, Patty, Matt, Theo, and Jay.

Special appreciation to those who provided care to Eileen in recent months: Sharon Tietgens, MD, Heidi Godoy, DO, Lisa Armao, NP, Arifa Javed, MBBS, Meghan, RN/Case Manager-The Community Hospice, and the nurses and staff at St. Peter’s Hospice In Patient Unit.

Arrangements, per Eileen’s directive, are private through Simple Choices, burial at Memory Gardens.
