Elizabeth "Betty" Courtois of Colonie, NY died Saturday, October 8, 2017, at the Hudson Park Rehabilitation Center in Albany, after a long battle with Colon Cancer.

Born in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Paul Courtois Sr. and Helen Roulett Courtois. Betty was a teacher early in her career where she taught in Germany and NY, then switched careers to work for The NY State Dept. of Taxation.

Though she loved the beach and spent many years living near the water in Point Lookout, NY, Betty especially enjoyed her past 30 years in Albany, NY where she was very active in several senior groups and truly enjoyed her friends in each. Known for her quick wit and constant friendship, Betty was always up for a fun time at the horse races at Saratoga, playing cards or just enjoying a new adventure with her friends.

She is survived by her three nephews and one niece, Kevin, Chris, Brian and Kara Courtois. All are welcome to celebrate Betty's life at the funeral mass on Saturday, October 28th at 9 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church at 76 Menands Rd., Albany, NY
