Obituary

Fredrick Knack, 66, of Glenmont NY passed away peacefully 2/23/14 at home with his family by his side. He was born in Liberty, NY to the late Henry and Elsie Knack. Fred was a 1965 graduate from Liberty Central High School. He served 33 years for the United States Postal Service before retiring in 2004. He has been a member of the White Sulphur Springs volunteer fire department for 49 years. As a member of the fire department he served as treasurer for the board of commissioners and fire police. He was Past Exalted Ruler of B.P.O.E. 1545 Liberty Elks. Fred was an avid hunter, train buff, local historian, NASCAR fan, and our family's own resident meteorologist. He is survived by his wife, Patti (Prince) of 46 years and his sons Craig (Josie) of Delmar, and Gary (David) of Cohoes, his brother Michael (Barbara) Knack of Maryland and brother-in-law, Billy (Cindy) Prince of White Sulphur Springs, NY. He is also survived by his loving granddaughter,Victoria. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 1st, 2014, at 1 PM from the Third Reformed Church, 20 Ten Eyck Avenue, Albany, NY 12209. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Third Reformed Church/ The Community Dinner Fund or The Community Hospice of Albany 445 New Karner Road Albany NY 12205.
