George Dahl Steeves passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the age of 84, after a long illness.

Growing up in the Albany area, George lived a life marked by curiosity, generosity, and a love of learning. He cultivated a lifelong passion for jazz, maintaining a vast collection of recordings. He worked as a master stonemason, a computer programmer, and landscaper, applying the same craftsmanship, precision, and problem-solving to each.

An avid gardener with a deep knowledge of botany, George found joy in cultivating beautiful garden spaces. He delighted in sharing his knowledge and passions with clients, family and friends.

George will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, quick intellect, and willingness to lend a hand. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his son, Adam Vincent and his grandchildren.
