Obituary

GLENS FALLS –

Gwenn Ann Saylors (Doty), 59, of Glens Falls, New York, passed away on February 17, 2026, in her hometown.

Born on April 17, 1966, in Glens Falls, Gwenn lived a life full of love, strength, and creativity that touched the hearts of those around her. Gwenn proudly served her country in the United States Air Force for two and a half years, stationed in Alaska. She received an honorable discharge and carried with her the resilience and determination that defined her character throughout her life. Gwenn had a hidden gift of being a talented painter, her daughter fondly remembering time spent together doing just that. Her home was always filled with the sounds of classic rock music—a soundtrack to her vibrant personality and often integrated into the time spent with friends and family.

She is lovingly remembered as making one of the best Shepard's Pies in existence and her spontaneous dances with Tommy. Her love for animals was unmatched. From the pets she kept to the creatures she cared for over the years, Gwenn’s kindness shone brightest in her connection with animals. Her beloved dog Susie was a constant companion who brought her endless happiness.

Gwenn is survived by her loving partner, Thomas Maye; her daughter Monica Mahoney and son-in-law Daniel Mahoney; and her cherished granddaughter Saige Penrose. She also leaves behind her brother Don Brown and his wife Robin Brown; nephews Alex Brown and Brandon Brown; several cousins; and many dear friends.

She was predeceased by her mother Helen Brown, aunt Rosemary Fideli, uncle Sal Fideli, and several beloved pets who undoubtedly greeted her at the Rainbow Bridge. Gwenn’s stubbornness and sarcasm were as much a part of her charm as her deep capacity for love. She faced life’s challenges with confidence and strength while embracing its joys with open arms. Her memory will live on in the laughter she shared, the art she created, and the love she gave so freely. As Gwenn could not stand the cold, a celebration of life and interment in the Gerald B.H. Solomon ~ Saratoga National Cemetery will occur later this year.
