SARATOGA SPRINGS –
Helen R. Richardson, 80, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023.
Born March 1, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Ruth Easton.
Helen taught Junior High English for several central New York schools. While she was teaching she met her soon-to-be husband, Andrew R. Richardson. They married and moved to his hometown of Saratoga Springs. After the move, Helen began working with the Troy Conference, which is now known as the Upper New York Conference of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working with the various churches and staff and formed several lifelong friendships.
One of Helen's biggest joys in life was square dancing. She enjoyed square dancing so much that she taught herself to call square dancing and became a certified caller. She danced and called for many local square and round dancing clubs in the upstate area. She also started her own group, Saratoga Dancers met for over twenty years at St. Peter's in Malta. Anyone who had the pleasure of seeing or dancing with her could easily see how much she enjoyed it. Her smile and laugh would light up the room.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Andrew.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary R. Richardson (Pat Blodgett); her sister, Carrie Easton Pattison; and her brother, Jim (Joanne) Easton, along with several nieces and a nephew.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
Her Arrangements are Private.
