Joseph John Arrabito

Joseph John Arrabito (79) of East Greenbush, New York and Calabash, North Carolina passed away unexpectedly on May 19, 2026, at Albany Medical Center following a stroke caused by a fall. Joe was born on March 20, 1947, in Troy, New York to the late Carmen and Mary (Dwyer) Arrabito.

Joe was a quiet man who enjoyed doing word jumbles and crossword puzzles and spending time at his home in North Carolina. Joe was a big animal lover and enjoyed relaxing with his cats. Joe was a factory worker at General Electric in Schenectady for thirty-four years before his retirement. He married Joy (Vanne) Danner on June 17, 2001, and the couple were fortunate to spend 24 years of marriage together.

In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his stepson, Joe Danner (Dawn) of Petersburg, and his step-grandchildren, Jeremy Danner (Megan), and Jamie Howard (Paul). Joe is also survived by two very close friends, Yvonne Hughes of California, and Al Mango of Georgia. Joe is also predeceased by his brother, Carmen Arrabito.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 6th at Moscatiello’s Italian Family Restaurant at 99 North Greenbush Road in Troy, New York. Family and friends can pay their respects to Joe’s family at 3:30 PM with a dinner buffet served at 4:00 PM.
