Karen Elaine David, aged 75, passed away on July 19, 2025 in Albany, NY. Born on July 10, 1950, Karen dedicated her life to her family and a successful career in banking and insurance. However, her family was her cornerstone in life, and she always prioritized her role as a mother and grandmother above all else.

Karen was celebrated for her vibrant sense of style, her sense of humor, and her quick wit. Her loving, kind, and caring nature made her a central figure in her family and network of close friends. She found joy in visiting cherished places such as Lake Placid and Hilton Head, where she enjoyed creating countless memories with her closest family and friends. She also had a passion for jazz music, which filled her home with warmth and melody and brought her to her other favorite places, Saratoga and Newport.

She leaves behind a loving family: her husband, Chris David; sons, James and Matthew McDonald; daughters-in-law, Melissa and Vicky; grandchildren, Braedan, Cindy, Evan, Connor, and Ella McDonald; siblings, Donald Hunt, Michael Hunt, Susan (Alan) Filauro, Jim (Patty) Hunt, Timothy (Sue) Hunt, Jeanne Reedy, her many beloved nieces and nephews, and her brothers and sisters-in-law within the David family. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Mary Hunt, and her sister, Donna Saranelli.

We will always hold onto the joy she brought to our lives, the love she gave us, the laughter she shared with us, and the lessons she left behind. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
