IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathleen E.
Timber
November 30, 1929 – April 18, 2018
Kathleen Elaine Timber, 87, of Troy, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2018, after a brief illness. In accordance with her wishes, there are no services planned.
Known to most as "Kay" or "Shorty," her diverse and entrepreneurial career choices included traveling with the O.C. Buck Carnival, facilitating sales at Stanley's Department Store, operating the Sage Luncheonette, serving as Library Housemother at the Junior College of Albany, working in Food Service at Russell Sage College, creating decorative centerpieces with Hudson River driftwood, and instituting a Saturday "Coffee Hour" at Burns Apartments.
Survivors include a sister, Ann Scheilding, and a brother, Kenneth Scheilding; three daughters, Linda Lee Skaarup (Troy), Patricia Anne Maloney (New York City), and Darlene Jean Maloney (Pleasant Valley); four grandchildren, Kenneth James Skaarup, Julie Ann Darmetko, Deborah Jean Bristol, and Eileen Marie Skaarup; and seven grandchildren.
Family and friends will always remember her indomitable spirit, hearty laugh, straightforward manner, country drives, color-coordinated attire, and endless collection of earrings.
Her message to us all was carried in her wallet: "When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room: Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little -- but not too long -- and not with your head bowed down."
