TROY – Linda Linsley, 78, of Troy, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, at Eddy Heritage House. Born in Albany on July 24, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Thomas W. Crosby, Jr. and Ruth L. (Teeling) Crosby.

Linda grew up in Berne and attended Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central School, later making her home in Albany and Troy.  For more than 40 years, Linda served veterans at the VA Hospital, first as a CNA and later as an EKG technician.

She was warm and generous, and she loved music, especially jazz. She never went a day of her life without at least one cat; she adored them, and they adored her right back. She shared that love as a longtime volunteer at Whiskers Cat Rescue. Linda enjoyed trips to Saratoga for the horses and to the shore whenever she could get away.

She is survived by her siblings, David Crosby, Kathleen McIntyre, and Barbara Labeck.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Brian M. Linsley, whom she married on March 1, 1976, in Brunswick; and sister, Elizabeth Crosby.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Eddy Heritage House and St. Peter’s Hospice for their compassionate care.

A graveside service will be held on October 24, 2026 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Berne, 1820 Helderberg Trail (Time TBD).  Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda’s memory to the Whiskers Animal Benevolent League, P.O. Box 11190, Albany, NY 12211.
