COLONIE –
Lucille Anne Akins, 87, of Colonie, formerly of Ballston Lake, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024.
She was born in Albany on June 30, 1936. A daughter of the late Hughe and Lucy (O'Brien) McCourt. Lucille was raised in Ballston Lake where she resided most of her life, attending local schools.
Ms. Akins was employed in the printing industry and retired after 30 years of service.
Lucille was a devout Catholic with a deep faith. She loved the outdoors, her pets and giving to others in need as a "people person". She will be sorely missed.
Survivors include her children: Stephen (Suzanne) Akins, Paul (LuAnn) Akins and Daniel Akins. Also survived by one brother, Hughe McCourt II, many grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
A private graveside service has taken place at the convenience of the family with burial in Jonesville Cemetery, Clifton Park, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lucille's memory to the Alzheimer's Association (
