Lynsey Marie Schoultz

Lynsey Marie Schoultz was born in Spokane Washington on September 2, 1982 to Jim and Shelley Schoultz (nee’ Greene) (Inderrieden). Also anticipating her arrival was her older sister, April.

Lynsey grew up in the Indian Trail Neighborhood of Spokane. She attended Indian Trail elementary, Salk junior high, and graduated from North Central high school.

In her early years, Lynsey was involved in tap and jazz dance through Dance Emporium in Spokane. Her family has fond memories of watching her perform in her recitals. Lynsey was naturally artistic, and enjoyed drawing and painting. She also excelled at and loved photography, many photos of family events, including her niece Maddy‘s graduation photos, look like that of a professional photographer. When Lynsey was 10 years old, the family took a trip to the Oregon coast. This was the first time Lynsey had seen the ocean. She was enamored and in love with the Oregon coast from that point on. Many road trips to the Oregon coast would follow.

After graduation, Lynsey struck out on her own and lived with a couple of dear friends from high school, Kathy and Nicole. She was not only a part of their lives, but also a part of their children’s lives.

Eventually, Lynsey got a place of her own. During much of her late 20s and 30s Lynsey was employed by Denny’s restaurant, working for her cousin Ryan. She was a server and then a bartender at the Denny’s in Airway Heights. Many customers became like friends and kept in contact with Lynsey even after she left Denny’s. Lynsey earned a bachelors degree in biology from Eastern Washington University. Using this degree, she worked at a couple of labs in Spokane doing testing on water. Eventually Lynsey decided to take a job working for Wadsworth lab at the Department of Health in Albany, New York. Lynsey was so excited to take this new adventure cross-country. She set out via her car and made the trip all by herself, much to our mother’s dismay. Once in Albany, Lynsey would continue to take road trips to see the eastern coastal states, including Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York City.

While working at Wadsworth, Lynsey continued to grow in her profession and was promoted multiple times, attaining the title of research scientist and becoming a published author in a scientific journal. Lynsey was loved and respected by her friends and coworkers at Wadsworth, many coming to see her and bringing food and gifts while Lynsey was off of work due to her diagnosis of ovarian cancer. They even organized a team for Lynsey to support her fight and walked in her honor in the Teal Ribbon Walk in Albany, New York. This, and all the visits and support meant the world to Lynsey.

Lynsey was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in May 2025. She fought hard. We are all so proud of her.  Lynsey passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026 with her mom and sister by her side. She is survived by her mom, sister, nephew, Kyle Thomas and niece, Madisyn Thomas, both of whom she was very involved with and loved dearly.  She is also survived by Aunts: Fran Hermanson (Mark), and Shannon Swennumson (Kevin). Uncles: John Schoultz (Becky), Bill Schoultz (Kathy), and many cousins & friends.  Preceded in death by her Dad Jim Schoultz, maternal grandparents Leonard & Jayne Greene, paternal grandparents Bill & Eleanor Schoultz, Aunt Christine Anderson, Uncle Terry Schoultz.

Lynsey was independent, artistic, funny, and most of all loved. She will be missed – until I see you in Heaven – I love you Bins/Binster, love April.
