Margaret E. (Peg) Keenan, age 83, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026 at Samaritan Hospital, surrounded by family and friends.

Peg was born, May 27, 1943 in Troy, NY. Margaret was the daughter of Mary (Pierce) Burdick and the step-daughter of Eugene Burdick Sr. She was a graduate of Berlin Central High School and was known by all for her kindness, generosity and willingness to help anyone in need.

Margaret shared 31 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, her husband Charles Keenan (Chuck), who preceded her death. She was also preceded by her their son, William Henry Keenan, her brothers Eugene (Gladys) Burdick Jr. and John E. (Cathy) Burdick, her sisters Helen (William) Rosekrans and Charlotte (John) Cichacki.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Ann Marie Keenan, her brothers Art (Diane) Burdick and Donald (Pam) Burdick and her sisters Gloria Stenowich and Mary Ann (Jay) Hoffay, her brother-in-law George (Tina) Keenan and sisters-in-law Cathy (John) Burdick and Jean (Oscar) Hassle and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her.

Throughout her career Margaret worked for many years at Samaritan Hospital and then at Oakwood Cemetery in Troy, NY and in her final years again many years at Walmart in Brunswick, NY.

Margaret will be remembered for her warm smile, compassionate heart and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. Her love and generosity touched many lives and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

The family thanks everyone on the third floor of the PCU Unit at Samaritan Hospital for all the kindness and care that was given to Margaret.

Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Wynantskill, NY at the family’s convenience.
