Mario John DiCristofaro, Sr., 84, of Schenectady passed away on September 11, 2018 surrounded by family and friends at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home.

Born in Schenectady on May 2, 1934, Mario was the son of the late Pasquale (Pat) and Nicoletta (Helen) DiCristofaro. Devoted husband to Phyllis Rose (who passed last year)

Loving father of Marie DiCristofaro-Smith (David), Rotterdam, NY, Lisa Anne Williamson (Mark), Plum Island, MA, Mario John, Jr. (Filomena), Rotterdam, NY. Cherished Grandfather of Joseph (Kristin), Nicholas, Alexa and Olivia and Great grandfather of Brandon, Dylan and Austin.  Brother of Dorothy, Julie, Mary, Anthony, Richard, Irene, Patricia, John, Joseph, and Paul.

Mr. DiCristofaro was a Korean War Veteran.  He retired from the General Electric Co., where he worked for over 39 years.  Mario was always active in the church and within the community.  In these last few years he made everyone at his Kingsway home smile with his love and laughter.  His company will be missed.

Relatives and friends may call 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Monday September 24th at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, 1 Mohawk Avenue, Scotia, where funeral services will commence at 12 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.

We would like to extend a special thanks to everyone at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home for the special love and care provided to dad allowing him independence and dignity until mom called him home.  You were all very special to him and always will be to our family.
