Those who knew Mary Ellen Meizels, know that she was the most positive, optimistic, and giving person they ever met. Mary's brave battle with cancer ended November 4, 2012 at age 62 when she passed away peacefully among friends and family. Born May 12, 1950 to Harold and Marion Putland, Mary is survived by her two daughters, Stacy and Kelly, her grandsons, Nicholas and James, her brother Joseph, and sisters, Mary, Ruth, Carol, Kathy and her mother Ruth Putland. Mary took great joy in her family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved sewing, baking, candy making, and being fully active at the Greenville Christian Life Center. For many years she took donations of dolls and teddy bears creating clothing and accessories for them for needy children. She helped others for the sake of their need, not for any reward other than the knowledge that she made a difference in their lives. And she did this while struggling through many of her own life challenges, all of which she faced without complaint or despair. In tradition with her positivity, Mary's last thoughts were of the happiness of being reunited with her mother, Marion, her father, Harold, and her sister Delores after her passing. Mary left behind a legacy of immeasurable kindness for those whose lives she touched and she will not be forgotten. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the Greenville Christian Life Center (Rt. 32 Greenville, NY) Tuesday, November 27 at 7PM.
