CASTLETON –
Matthew Gregory Hempstead, 28, of Castleton, NY, passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital on October 28, 2023.
He was born in Albany, NY in 1995 to Sharon Bauer (Michael) and Charles Hempstead.
Matthew was preceded in death by his grandmother Anna, grandfather Charles, aunt Donna and his beloved dog, Max.
He is survived by his grandmother, Beatrice Zirpoli; grandfather, Terry Gibson; mother, Sharon (Michael); his father Charles; his brother Charlie (Kayla); his sister Brianna (Robert); along with his uncles, Terrance Gibson (Darlene), Richard Gibson (Jennifer), Ralph Gibson (Sharon), Keith Hempstead, aunts Debbie Hempstead, Patty Hempstead, Michelle Gibson, Maryann Wagoner (Kris), Tracey Bohley (Nathan), Stacey Orlando (Frank) and many cousins.
Matthew was a loving son, brother, nephew and cousin.
He cared deeply about all those whose lives he was a part of and will be deeply missed.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 1 o'clock at the
Nassau Ambulance Hall,

As Matthew adored his beloved dog, memorial pet food donations can be made at the Celebration of Life and be donated to the local Humane Society.
