Albany, NY- Michael G. Smith died peacefully on August 1, 2015 after a brief illness. Mike was one of four children born in England to George A. Smith, a World War II decorated veteran (predeceased) and Maud Jessie (Davies) Smith (predeceased). He moved to the United States after World War II and lived most of his life in Albany, NY. He worked and retired from New York State Department of Education. He was a devoted son and brother and was an avid golfer who was most happy golfing with his buddies Steve, Regie, Bobby and Eddie (predeceased). Mike also enjoyed watching classical movies and was a proud member of the Polish American Citizens Club (PACC). Beloved brother of: Brian Smith (predeceased), Peter J. Smith and David W. Smith (retired Navy). Also survived by a Niece and several cousins in the United States and England. Graveside committal prayers will be offered on Saturday morning August 15 at 10:30 AM at the family plot located in Calvary Cemetery, 481 Route 9W, Glenmont, NY 12077. Those who wish to attend the service should be at the cemetery no later than 10:20AM in the morning.
