AMSTERDAM –
Richard Charles Romeo (Rich) passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
He was blessed with a life full of wonderful friends and family. Son of the late Anthony C. and Anne Romeo.
He is survived by his wife: Kathleen (Meyer) Romeo, his son: Michael Charles Romeo and his daughter: Amy Louise Romeo.
As a civil engineer, he enjoyed a long career with the state and private firms. A lifetime lover of sports cars, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Brooklyn Dodgers, he also enjoyed a love/hate relationship with golf and tennis. He was an excellent gardener, cook and enjoyed making up his own recipes for family and friends. His mark has been made on every property he lovingly landscaped as well as on the Florida Veterans Memorial Park, where he was an active member.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
There will be a celebration of life held this spring at the Veterans Park.
No services will be held until then.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of the many charities he supported (including the Park, St. Jude's, Wounded Warrior, Cancer Research, etc).
