Ron Shuhart passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025 at the Rosewood Nursing Home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Albany New York, the son of Cyril (Rose) and Annette Shuhart.
A skilled mechanic, Ron worked for many years at Mario's in Valatie. Prior to that he ran his own repair shop in Nassau. Ron was known for his talent with cars and his willingness to help others. He was able to be a part of Volvo White in Utah when they made the truck for the 80's movie Over the Top. This was something in which he took great pride. While living in Nashville he worked on Vehicles for many famous country music stars to include Garth Brooks. Even though Ron traveled, he always returned home to N.Y. Ron took great pride in teaching his children and grandchildren the skills which he had learned over the years. Ron loved spending time with family, whether at camp, sharing stories, fixing things, or simply enjoying each other's company. His quick wit, sense of humor, and big heart left lasting memories with all who knew him. Ron was loved deeply and will be missed by his family, friends, and all fortunate enough to have known him.
Ron married Donna French Shuhart in 1982 in Ogden Utah. They have 3 daughters and 2 grandchildren. Later divorcing. Ron met Michelle Gibson and started another family where there were 5 children and 4 grandchildren.
Ron was predceased in death by his parents, grandparents, 3 siblings Edward, Kyle, and Sheri Shuhart. A nephew, niece, 3 cousins, 2 uncles, and 4 aunts.
Ron is survived by his children Christina (James) Sweeney, Brittany Shuhart, Laurie Jane Shuhart, Stephanie (Jacqueline) LaBelle, Heather (Nick) Labelle, Brandon Labelle, Michael Labelle, and Ronald Shuhart (Morgan).
6 grandchildren: Caylie, James Alan, Holden, Oakley, Aubrey, and Alexander. Siblings William (Kellie) Shuhart, Heather Shuhart Durham, Rose (Chris), Rick (Spencer) Folmsbee Nash, Maryann (Krisden) Wagoner, Laurie Shuhart and Eva Shuhart. The mothers of his children, Donna French Shuhart and Michelle Gibson. 2 Aunts Joyce Albert and Tammy (Donald) Letellier. Many cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday September 20, 2025 from 10:00-10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 607 Central Avenue, Albany, NY 12206, with interment following in St. Mary's Cemetery, Nassau NY. A celebration of life will be at the home of Maryann and Kris Wagoner immediately following the burial.
