Guilderland, NY – Ruth W. Hogan age 102 from Glenville and Scotia, New York died peacefully on October 19, 2018 with family at her side.
Ruth was born in Schenectady, NY and was the daughter of the late Anna and Mark Clothier. She was sister to and predeceased by Kathleen, Jean, Raymond and Bernice. She attended Scotia Schools. Ruth was a communicant of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Scotia and was active with the Altar Guild, Braille Group and taught Sunday school. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, operated the concession stand for Scotia Babe Ruth and Little League's and was a member of the Village Women's Club. She was employed as a clerical worker by General Electric (Manpower), Schenectady Public Library in Scotia, Scotia Glenville Junior High School Library; by Ellis Hospital as a nursing assistant and for over twenty years as a home health aide. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years Carl E. Hogan. She is survived by her 6 children Carol Minehardt (Paul), Richard, Donald (Louise), James, Nancy Falace, John (Elaine). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Our Lady of Mercy Life Center, 2 Mercy Care Lane Guilderland at 10:30 on Saturday October 27, 2018. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
