Stanley P. Suwinski

The son of the late Amelia and Stanley Suwinski, Stan is survived by his sister Jeani Shewell, his dear Aunt Judy Pagois, in-laws Terri & Mike Mueller, Sue & Vince Romano, Barb Ryan, close friends Ed & Deb Avery and caregiver Dot Mueller. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He grew up in Schenectady NY and graduated from Bishop Gibbons in 1965. Stan joined the Navy and spent 13 months in Vietnam as part of his 6 years of service. Stan married the love of his life, Patti Ryan Suwinski (recently deceased October 19, 2025) and they shared 55 years of making memories. While living in Pennsylvania for 7 years he was employed at New Cumberland Army Depot. Upon returning to Schenectady Stan enjoyed working at Adirondack Woodshed and Old Brick Furniture.

A great enjoyment of Stan’s was his 45 years as a member of the Rotterdam Elks where he met many long time friends and enjoyed many activities. A lifelong music enthusiast, after retirement Stan became a DJ known as “Stan the Man”. Stan & Patti enjoyed many cruises and travels; the warmer the weather the better.

Many thanks to dedicated Hospice nurses Meaghan and Missy who brought warmth and fun to Stan during his time in their care.

Per Stan’s wishes, a private double interment will be held at Memory Gardens to be scheduled at a later date.
