Susan Crounse

1955 - 2026

Susan L. Crounse, 71, of Saratoga passed after a long battle with cancer on September 11, 2026, at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, NY, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on May 28, 1955 in Kingston NY, daughter of late Joseph and Agnes (Shekus) Straub.

She will be remembered as passionate and spirited, and as someone who would give everything she had and more to those she loved and cared for. For those lucky enough to be in her circle, she accepted them completely and without reservation, giving them unwavering loyalty. 

Susan’s family was the center of her world. She is survived by her three children: Annie (Charles) Sargent of Saratoga, Victoria Locke of Albany, and Jonathon Locke, alongside his fiancé Alison, of Ballston Spa. She is also survived by her siblings, Jack (Liz) Straub and Judy Snyder, and by her adored grandchildren, Emily Monforte and her partner Randall Myers, Addison Sargent, Theodore Locke, and Tucker Locke. Susan is also remembered lovingly by many nieces and nephews. As well as great-nieces, and a great-nephew who affectionately called her "ZooZoo"

In addition to her parents, Susan was predeceased by her sister Nancy Davey, her sister Barbara Panchak, her brother Bruce Straub, and her nephew Ryan Panchak. Susan’s life is remembered through the love she extended so freely, the strength of her spirit, and the lasting place she held in the lives of her family. 

Those who knew her will remember a woman whose presence was unmistakable and whose generosity was deeply felt. Her family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful caretakers she had at both Saratoga Oncology and Saratoga Hospital.

Her memory will remain with all who knew and loved her.  A celebration of life will be held with family.
