WATERVLIET – Thomas Edward Gavin, 31, of Watervliet, passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of his own home on January 31, 2023. The son of Edward S. and Alice (Pearson) Gavin, Thomas was born on April 24, 1991, in Albany, New York. A resident of the Capital Region for all his life, Thomas received his education from local schools. At the time of his death, he was employed by NAPA Auto Parts in Latham as their warehouse manager. Thomas will be warmly remembered as a kind and gentle soul, who loved his family and friends and made connections with people wherever he went. He was a devoted friend to many and will be sorely missed. He is survived by his loving parents. Thomas was predeceased by one sister, Stephanie Gavin, who passed away on June 16, 2022. In accordance with his wishes, Thomas will be cremated through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. The Gavin Family has chosen to honor Thomas' memory in a private way, scattering of his ashes in a meaningful place that brings comfort during this difficult time.
