Watervliet — Tom Sunukjian, 76, formerly of East Greenbush, NY went on to glory on April 4, 2022, at his home in Watervliet. He is survived by his wife Betty, son Dominic (Jennifer) , daughter Jolee Helf (Brian), and six grandchildren, Casey, Abby, Mary Rose, Sophia, Samuel, and Rebekah. He Graduated in 1962 from Catholic High School in Lansingburgh NY. He was an Air Force Veteran who served as a combat engineer as part of Red Horse in Vietnam. He married Betty McNeely on November 18th, 1967 in Columbus OH. He accepted Christ as his Savior on June 16th, 1991 on Father's Day. Throughout the years, he and Betty served in the church in various capacities and led a small group bible study through the fall of 2021. Vocationally, he was a meat cutter for 40 years and retired in 2002. He was a past Commander and Chaplin of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #38 and served on the Honor Guard at the Saratoga National Cemetery. He loved God, his family, and his country. He will be in our hearts forever. Cremation took place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. The Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 12th at 10:30 a.m. at Community Gospel Church, 487-3rd Avenue Extension, Rensselaer NY 12144. Military burial to follow at 1 p.m. at the Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville NY.
