William John “Bill” Zinzow, affectionately known as Bill, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home on July 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Son of the late Charles Sr. and Viola (Burns) Zinzow, he was born on April 3, 1951 in Albany, NY.

Bill’s love of the outdoors defined much of his life. He was an avid hiker and caver and found great joy working on his property and spending time at Thacher Park. Whether exploring nature or improving the land he loved, Bill embraced every opportunity to stay active and enjoy the outdoors.

A true entrepreneur, Bill was a man of many talents. Over the years, he worked on automobiles, painted cars, did laser engraving and completed carpentry projects with skill and pride. He had a remarkable ability to fix, build, and create, and he took great satisfaction in working with his hands.

Above all, Bill cherished his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife and extended family. Some of his happiest moments were hosting picnics for family and friends with his wife at their property, where laughter, conversation, and togetherness created lasting memories for everyone who knew and loved him.

Bill will be remembered for his hard working spirit, independence, generosity, love of nature, and devotion to his family. He is survived by his wife Linda (Christofanelli) Zinzow. He is also survived by his siblings: June (Rick) Bender of Boonsville, NY, Ann Lewis (the late Joseph), of Watervliet, NY, Charles Zinzow Jr. (the late Sue) of Palm Coast, FL, and Robert Zinzow (Dawn) of Castleton, NY. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Luecinda (Walter) Chenette, Medea (Ted) Shields, Janice Lewis, Cheryl Wallisch, Larry (Cindy) Pitts, Noel (Stas) Kondracki, the late Charles III Zinzow, the late Chad Zinzow, Justin (Tara) Zinzow, Brendan (Kristen) Zinzow, Jason (Jennifer) Zinzow, Shawn Zinzow and several great nieces and nephews.

At the request of Bill there will be no calling hours or services. At the convenience of the family a memorial service will be held at a later date.
