SCOTIA –
A Celebration of the Life of Yvette (Carpenter) Foti
Yvette (Carpenter) Foti, 84, of Scotia, left this world peacefully on August 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born to Solomon and Francoise (Manny) Carpenter, Yvette grew up in a home where kindness, resilience, and family were at the heart of everything. Those values became the foundation of the life she built; a life full of love, laughter, and an unshakable dedication to the people she cared for.
Yvette met John Foti in 1959 and they married in 1961. Together, they had 4 children and raised them until John's passing in 1982. Yvette was employed as a bookkeeper at AW Woods in Rotterdam and at Grimmers in Schenectady. After retiring, Yvette worked part-time at Pottery Barn as she loved working with the public, and loved the employee discount even more!
Yvette had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and was most happy when cooking. Her kitchen was always open, a place where both recipes and relationships were perfected. From her Sunday morning breakfasts, holiday dinners, Sunday family dinners, to her infamous little Pizzas with signature lemon salad, food wasn't just nourishment, it was love served on a plate.
Yvette's sense of style was unmistakable. She believed that how you present yourself is a reflection of self-respect and she always carried herself with grace. Whether she was dressed for a special occasion or simply going about her day, she had a way of looking effortlessly put-together. Her wardrobe, like her personality, was full of color, elegance, and confidence.
Throughout her life, Yvette enjoyed traveling, the company of her family and friends, and was an avid golfer.
Yvette is survived by her children: Derek (Diana) Foti, Ranae (Douglas) Fredenburg, John (Melissa) Foti Jr., and Adam (Jason Lambert) Foti; seven beloved grandchildren: Jessika Foti, Erika Foti, Cylin Hebert, Celeste Burke, Amber Fredenburg, John Foti III, and Ryan Foti; and five cherished great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings Pierette Bosy, Lucy Piccirillo, Shirley Sterlina, Juliette Jones, Francine Grimmer, and Lawrence Carpenter.
A celebration of Yvette's life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 4 to 7 p.m. at PDT Maison, 35 Maple Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY. Friends and family will gather not to mourn her loss alone, but to share stories, remember her laughter, and feel the warmth of the legacy she leaves behind.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her- in the kindness we show one another, in the bonds of family, in the scent of a favorite recipe, and in the quiet, steadfast love she modeled so well.
